A Transformative Commitment

Aaron Bobick

The McKelvey School of Engineering is at a critical juncture, poised to emerge as one of the university’s flagship schools. Our strategic plan sets a course for even greater distinction in engineering research and education by strengthening all aspects of the school. Priority objectives include providing an exceptional educational experience, attracting and retaining world-class faculty, advancing internationally recognized contributions in fundamental and translational research, and creating a positive impact on the local community, the country, and the world.

Trustee Jim McKelvey Jr. and his wife, Anna, have made a major commitment to usher in this new era of achievement at the engineering school. Their commitment establishes the $30 million McKelvey Engineering Challenge, which will give our alumni, parents, and friends the opportunity to secure a transformative gift for the school by making their own contributions. Support for all areas of the engineering school will count toward earning the challenge funds.

The challenge presents a pivotal opportunity to raise significant resources for the engineering school. This substantial investment will facilitate considerable growth throughout the school, significantly bolstering our ability to realize our vision for progress. I encourage you to help us seize this incredible opportunity to propel the engineering school to new heights of prominence and impact.

With appreciation,
